Middle Of Nowhere took place in Northampton over the Bank Holiday weekend of 1-4 th May 2008. It featured over 65 musicians, artists and film-makers, joined countless promoters together and forged a festival map using the town's music and arts venues. It was organised by The Shock Collective who volunteered hundreds, if not thousands, of hours to the cause; all for free for the good of the people. Over 3,000 good people recognised our efforts and responded by showing their support by attending – 90% of the events were free after all! The intention was to continue over the years to build a bigger and better festival. Something we could all be proud of, and excited by. However, these things don't run on good will alone. Hard work, dedication, and most importantly money play a big part. So far The Shock Collective are unable to commit any of these. Coupled with this, Northampton is experiencing a certain anti-culture we're not sure we are able to resolve. The music's not over yet. Watch this space.
